Dairies of Mum and Son

My holiday gone all wrong…

“Yippee!!!” I yelled as I was going for a holiday to Dubai!!

But the best part was I was going ALONE without mummy and daddy…to meet my cousin sis, Anushka. I was so excited about it. Every day I made plans for what would I do during my stay at Chikki’s (that’s how I call my aunt) place.

At first I was a little scared to travel alone but the excitement to be with my little sis change my mind. Mummy was busy with her work and just couldn’t leave for a vacation. On the other side daddy couldn’t come because of his busy schedule. That’s sad… :(   So they planned my trip…..and I was all ready to go.I got everything ready, planned every single thing I was going to do. I even went shopping, bought new clothes for myself and loads of toys, books and some cute dresses for Anushka. I even picked what I was going to wear while travelling….hehehe.

I was soooooo looking forward to this trip when…………I heard the bad news. The UAE people have stopped unaccompanied children to come to Dubai!!!

That’s bad …really really bad and I was sad.

All my plans went upside down….now I won’t be able to meet Anu nor do all the masti as I planned.

Mummy says whatever happens, happens for the best…..so when I thought of it, I didn’t feel that miserable.

Anyways, this whole planning and trip went horribly wrong, but no worries I have mummy and daddy around. They are trying best to keep me entertained this summer…..with movies, games, bowling and overheard about a quick vacation…..hmmm I am happy…let it come.

Happy Birthday Mummy

 HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU,

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU,

  HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MUMMY,

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!!!!!! Hip Hip HURRAY!!

Yesterday was mummy’s BIRTHDAY…and we were so excited.

Daddy and I gifted her a day of pampering at the spa..which she absolutely loves.

Evening was to be spent at my new friend Sanushka’s house, since it was her dad’s birthday too. That means no party in our house…..:( We got to do something, I thought…..a plan.

Usually she drives wherever she goes, but then we had a plan. So we went to drop her in Brighton and made sure she can only come home if picked …hehhe. This gave me and daddy ample time to decorate the house with balloons, pick up the cake, buy party poppers etc etc….

It was kind of  a surprise, with only 3 people in the party, which was daddy, the birthday girl and I. I tried my best not to give mummy the slightest hint, but Daddy’s good boy behaviour made her doubt.

As we were busy shopping mum called up to be picked….she finished her session 15 minutes early. Now the chaos begins as we still have to decorate the house. So we rushed home , daddy dropped me to do the decorations while he ran to pick her up. He even planned to drive the long way back home so i get enough time. It was soo exciting and funny.

And then there she was all relaxed and smiling at the driveway… “SURPRISE!!”, I shouted as I opened the door for her. Mummy was so shocked :)  and happy to see  the balloons floating in the ceiling, the party strings all over the wall and a yummy cake on the table .

She kept smiling and asking how did we manage………………but that is a secret mum.

About me and the blog

Posted by: dairiesofmumnson on: January 9, 2010

Two of us write here, my precious little angel (that’s how I like to call him, which he simply loves) and I.

Intially I spent 10 years of my life exhaustively working as a caring mother to my baby (at present a handsome 9 year old). His ten little fingers and ten little toes gave my world a whole new meaning and life was less painful. Regular huggies and kissies still make him smile and it is never enough. Now that he is all grown up and can do without my 24×7 care, I suddenly had plenty of time to spare and nothing to do, thought of taking up a job but nothing did I know….After going into dramatic depression for several weeks and troubling my loved ones, I ventured into the amazing world of food… and yes many a things I knew. I have always loved to explore food but had never considered as a career option. The fact that food was and is same everywhere but with different names excites me all the more. My cooking adventure turned into profession in the form of INDULGENCE …specializing in good regional food and not the butter chickens and rogan josh as half of the world believes Indian food to be. Baking also happens to be an inseparable part of me… as I never leave a single chance to show-off my creative skills… With so much happening in such a short period, along came the whole new exciting world of blogging. Got addicted and at last the blogging bug bit me too. I penned down my cooking adventures as and when time was at my disposal….and on the way came across quiet a few talented individuals.

Besides cooking, listening to music is like a routine….especially old Hindi songs, Pandit Jasraj, Jagjit Singh, Sonu Nigam, Shreya Ghosal, KK, Kailash Kher, Alka Yagnik….and many more. From other part of the world ABBA, Bryan Adams & Savage garden is my all time favourite with Beyonce taking the limelight now a days.

Travelling, gardening, candles, calligraphy, photography, moulding ceramics and playing with colours gives me immense satisfaction.  But the other half of me is a dreamer(I even dream during the day), awfully lazy, a sadist, a super emotional fool, very unpredictable, lost most of the time, excessively filmy, a diehard Salmaan Khan fan, a classic- annoying mother who can shed tears at anything, dreadfully dominating wife and a cleanliness freak…..hush.

I am a firm believer of Balaji and consider Gannu bappa my best friend. I believe in myself and teach my child the same…..I tell him do not look for God to worship him, have a good heart and you will have him in your heart. I have  always tried my best to give him the ocean of love and knowledge and discard discrimination.

Dairies of mum n son is all about our way of existence among nature, friends and family. Nobody’s life is straightforward or pur-fect, but the people around us make all the difference…and this is what the blog is all about….beautiful phenomenon.

Quote of the day:

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did. So throw off the bowlines, Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream.

Grishm

It is HOLIDAY TIME, the school has ended for the year 2009 and I am so happy. I keep thinking, “I am going to have so much fun, NO homework, NO studying and best of all NO school”. However I feel sad as well for not meeting my friends during the vacation since I am usually with them most of the time.

My first day of the holidays-

I slept like a pig till 12 in the noon, woke up and as usual asked mum if I can watch T.V. As usual she said first brush your teeth’s, drink your milk, take a shower and then watch T.V……

I did exactly what she said cause I wanted to watch Suite life on deck and play my PSP….jointly…hehehe.

The whole day was fun. In the evening more T.V., watched a movie, ate junk food and slept at 12 in the night…..yippee.

Tomorrow my routine repeats…….and it is really cool.
